Specialty Chemicals and Biodiesel Manufacturer in Southeast Asia
PT Eterindo Wahanatama Tbk was incorporated in 1992 as the flagship company of the Eterindo group. Eterindo group's activities were initiated in 1965 when the business started its trading business of chemical products. Through a continuous learning process and abundance of business experience, nowadays, with its current four operating companies as its subsidiaries, Eterindo manifests into one among the largest and most integrated Specialty Chemicals manufacturers in Southeast Asia producing upstream and midstream chemical products used in the manufacture of many consumer and industrial goods.
The generic chemical products are: Phthalic Anhydride, Plasticizers, Unsaturated Polyester Resins, Alkyd/ Amino Resins, and Synthetic Latex Resins. While Phthalic Anhydride and Plasticizers (DOP) are two commodity products because they are massively produced, the resins are considered as specialty chemical products since they are tailor-made to suit the request from customers.
Besides domestic market, Eterindo has exported its products worldwide such as Southeast Asia, China, India, Bangladesh, Middle East, Japan, Korea, Australia and United States.
Integration as a strategy secures several important benefits for the group: a broader product range, a mean to reduce the cyclical effects in commodity chemical, a captive source of raw materials, further logistic and cost efficiencies and the platform for future growth.
In line with the global issue of increasing fuel demand and also reducing fossil energy resources, including petrol diesel, we are looking into the need of creating alternative fuel which is not only serve as a diversification or alternative to the conventional fuel oil but also as an environment friendly source of energy.
Having gone through an extensive study, our research and development centre, with the support of its well-informed and highly capable in house engineers, we have successfully completed in modifying our current production facilities in Gresik to produce Biodiesel/ Palm-Methyl-Esther, the green petroleum. We are currently in the commercial production with capacity of 120, 000 MT per annum.
